By the mid 1950s, the Norfolk & Western was America's last steam stronghold. With diesels on the horizon, the period between 1955 and 1959 brought still and motion picture photographers to this railroad for coverage of it's operations as no other southern line experienced, resulting in an abundance of fine quality material. This series chronicles those days of power and glory in many areas of the company's operations.
